Fun Indoor Activities for Older Residents to Enjoy in their Maryland Apartment

Senior residents can also enjoy their free time inside of their Maryland apartment.

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) breakout is continuing to spread throughout Maryland and the country. We have now been ordered to stay at home except for food or medicine. Although during these trying times of social distancing and quarantining, we can still make the most of our situations. For residents who are a bit older, there has never been a more critical time to self-isolate. They are at risk of getting seriously ill from the virus. However, senior residents can also enjoy their free time inside of their Maryland apartment. There is nothing wrong with being inside your residence, especially now. Here are a handful of activities and things for older residents to enjoy in their Maryland apartment!

Start Working Out

Now is an excellent time to engage in some physical activity of some sort. Although your apartment fitness center might be closed down due to the executive order issued by Governor Hogan, there is still plenty for you to do to get into a consistent fitness routine. The older you get, the more critical it is to take care of your health. You could create your own exercise routine with any equipment you might have, or consider doing yoga or cardio outside (make sure you’re keeping your distance from anybody else running). There are plenty of workouts and exercises you can do to pass the time in your Maryland Apartment.

Indoor Garden

Growing plants of all kinds, even carrots or tomatoes, can be done inside your apartment on a table or windowsill. It is now spring after all, what a better way to pass the time in your Maryland apartment!

Board Games

Playing board games inside is a fun at-home activity for all older residents, and it also keeps our minds sharp. Classics like Yahtzee, Scrabble, and Bingo are all fun. Just make sure when you’re playing not to play with a group of more than ten.

Watch Some Classic Shows and Movies

One of the most reliable time-passers for people of all ages. Consider re-watching some of your favorite television shows and movies from when you were growing up. Or consider watching something brand new on a streaming service. This is one of the best ways to pass the time while in quarantine.
