The annual Lavender Days Festival at Dixon Family Farm in St. Mary’s County is the perfect way to get out with the one you love or your family. This summer event lets you see over 3,000 different lavender plants in full bloom. You’ll also be able to enjoy music from local bands, food trucks, craft beverages, live workshops, petting zoos, face painting, hay rides, and the opportunity to buy handmade goods from local artisans. The Coastal Arts Market at the Leonardtown Wharf
From April through November, the annual Coastal Arts Market will be open one Saturday each month, typically the third Saturday. This unique St. Mary’s County event lets you enjoy and purchase works from local artists and craftspeople. Everything sold is handmade, and no manufactured products are allowed, making it a great way to support the local art scene. The Leonardtown Wharf has many additional dining options available to complete your day!
The Leonardtown Summer Music Festival
This St. Mary’s County tradition is back again, and you can enjoy live music and entertainment in the heart of Leonardtown. From improvisational jazz to tribute bands that play your favorites, there is plenty to see close to your Apartments of Wildewood home. The Summer Music Festival begins at the end of April and stretches through early October. Some events include activities and samples from local wineries and restaurants, so check the schedule beforehand.
National Lighthouse Weekend at Piney Point
The Piney Point Lighthouse Museum and Historic Park are celebrating National Lighthouse Day again this year on August 5-6 with free tours of the property. This annual event includes guided tours of the lighthouse museum, the gardens, the lighthouse tower, and more. You’ll also be able to meet reenactors who act as the Lightkeeper and his wife. This two-day event is fun for the whole family.
